We are a French and English speaking household and our oldest child speaks fluent Franglais. This is a positive most of the time, but not when we go to the zoo. The French word for seal is phoque, which is an unfortunate homophone for the English f-word. We get all kinds of looks when we are near the seal enclosure and our child is merrily shouting, "Look at the phoques! I love phoques!" It is also one of our baby's first words. People looove it when your adorable cherub spouts expletives, let me tell you.
